Flavor is tart at first, then mellowing to an excellent sugar-acid balance. Top-notch cider or fresh eating apple. Rated first in quality in a blindfold taste test conducted by the Royal Horticultural Society. Good keeper, 3-4 months. Resistant to powdery mildew. Ripens Mid-season.
