A red variety of Bartlett. An excellent pear ripening to a crimson red. Somewhat sweeter than the standard Bartlett. Older trees will need structural thinning to allow sunlight penetration for coloring of fruit. Slightly more fire blight resistant than Bartlett. 700 chill hours. USDA zones 5-9; Sunset zones 2-9, 14,15.
