Shipping Policy
Shipping/Handling Policy:
We accept orders every month of the year except May. We ship our nursery stock bare root each Monday and Tuesday from
January through April, depending on weather conditions. We ship books
year round. If you have placed a pre-season order (June through December) it may be a few
months before you hear from us, depending on your location. If
availability of any given item changes due to an inventory adjustment,
we’ll be sure to contact you as soon as possible. Nursery stock is
shipped UPS and books are sent parcel post via the US Post Office. Our
trees are pruned to 52" for boxing purposes. Most nursery stock
arrives within seven days. Allow two to three weeks for books. All
orders must be paid in full before we can ship. If you paid with a
credit card your card will not be billed until your order is ready to
be shipped. You will be notified when your nursery stock ships and
given a UPS tracking number that can be used to track your order and
know exactly when it will arrive.
We cannot ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or internationally. Sorry!

When to expect your plants:
The period of the year during which we can ship trees to you varies
depending on your location. We monitor the temperature and weather
conditions in your area and try to send trees at the earliest safe date
for planting. Generally, if temperatures have been consistently above
freezing for at least a week we will be getting ready to ship your
trees. Let us know if you have a preferred time to receive your trees,
otherwise we'll send it during the earliest available window for your

Please keep in mind that these dates are approximate, especially if you live at very high
elevation. Keep in mind that you may order trees at any time.
It may be hard waiting for your order, but many of our varieties sell out
before our shipping season begins!

East Coast, Northern States and Midwest, Please note:
We will hold your trees dormant until weather conditions are ideal for
planting in your area. A small cold storage fee of 5%, (or $3, for orders less than $60) will be applied
to your total order to help cover the cost of refrigeration. Any orders
that must be held for shipping after March 1, 2005 will be placed in
cold storage.

Return Policy:
We take pride in the quality of our trees, and receive praises from our
customers on the vigor of our nursery stock. Our trees are guaranteed
to grow if they are handled, planted, and cared for in accordance to
the instructions we provide with each purchase. We will replace any
tree that fails to grow if notified by July 1st (of the year the tree
is ordered), and we will charge only for shipping. In most cases we
will want to be in contact with you about how the plant was cared for
from the time you received the plant to until its performance was less
than ideal. We may also require that plants be returned to us for
inspection to determine the problem. Our liability is limited to the
purchase price of the plant, and we reserve the right to make refunds
if the variety in question is not available.
